Under the label Deepfake Situations the performance artists Felix Falczyk and Johanna Herschel work on strategies and tactics of misappropriation of (everyday) situations. Together with the audience, they construct situations in which new behaviors are rehearsed, unlearned or simulated.

Their works have been presented throughout Germany and internationally in theaters, museums, and at festivals; as interdisciplinary experimental installations, they explore the boundaries between theater, visual art, and social choreography. They have been presented at venues including Ballhaus Ost in Berlin, the Literaturforum at the Brecht-Haus in Berlin, Mousonturm in Frankfurt, Pavillon in Hanover, the National Theater in Mannheim, the Implantieren Festival in Frankfurt, the Zeitzeug Festival in Bochum, and the ARENA Festival in Erlangen. Internationally, their works have been invited to ALTOFEST in Naples (IT), the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje (NMK), and the confluence Festival in Stockholm (SE). Lectures and artistic research as part of the Collaborative Research Center “Intervening Arts” at the Free University of Berlin, the New Center for Research & Practice (US), and the School for Politics and Critique (NMK). Felix Falczyk and Johanna Herschel studied at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Giessen.
